- cucumbers
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 tsp. powdered alum
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. pickling spice
Directions

1Pack cucumbers in a 1/2-gallon jar.

2Mix vinegar, alum, salt and spice together; pour over cucumbers; finish filling jar with cold water and seal.

3Leave 3 months.

4Wash cucumbers in cold water and split.

5Heat 1/2 cup vinegar and 4 cups sugar until bubbly. Pour over cucumbers in bowl so you can stir.

6Let sit for 24 hours or longer before using.
