  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar.

    Add beaten egg yolk.

    Beat until light.

    Add flour and vanilla.

    Roll into balls.

    Beat egg whites until foamy.

    Dip the balls into egg whites and roll in ground nuts.

    Press with thumb.

    Bake at 350° for 5 minutes, then push center down again and bake 15 minutes longer.

    Remove and put on wire rack.

    Fill center with jam or icing.
