  • 1 (8-inch) square cake
  • 1 1/2 c. butter cream frosting
  • 4 black licorice twists
  • 3 large red gumdrops
  • 24 small red candies

Directions

    Trim top and edges of cake.

    Frost entire cake with frosting. Using wooden toothpick, mark cake into thirds, both horizontally and vertically.

    Arrange 2 licorice twists over horizontal lines. Cut remaining licorice twists and place into position on vertical lines.

    Decorate with red candies for the x's and gumdrops for the o's.
