- 2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, chilled
- 1 c. milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 Heath bars or 1 pkg. Heath bits
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.

3Combine brown sugar and flour in large mixer bowl, on low speed, until thoroughly combined.

4Cut butter into 8 pieces; cut into sugar-flour mixture with a pastry blender, until mixture is size of small peas and uniformly mixed.

5Transfer 1 cup of mixture to medium bowl to use as topping.

6Add milk, egg, vanilla and baking soda to remaining crumb mixture.

7Beat on high speed for 2 minutes.

8Transfer to prepared pan.

9Coarsely mince candy bars; add to reserved crumbs, along with pecans.

10Sprinkle evenly over cake.

11Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.

12Place pan on wire rack; cool completely.
