- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- egg white
- 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cream together margarine and sugar.

2Add flour, egg yolk and vanilla, beating well.

3Spread evenly in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.

4Brush top with egg white.

5Sprinkle with walnuts.

6Bake at 275° for 1 hour and 25 minutes or until golden brown.

7Remove from oven.

8Cut into bars immediately and cool on wire rack.

9Store, tightly covered, at least 3 days before serving.

10Makes approximately 4 dozen.
