  • 1 small baguette French bread (about 12 inches long)
  • 1 clove garlic, mashed
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 6 medium tomatoes, chunked
  • 1/2 onion, chopped (10 to 12 Tbsp.)
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 c. balsamic vinegar
  • salad greens

    Preheat oven to 300°.

    Split baguette in half lengthwise.

    Rub one half with garlic on cut side.

    Brush with olive oil.

    Cut garlic side in half again, lengthwise, then into 3/4-inch pieces. Place croutons on cookie sheet, crust side down and bake until golden, 30 minutes or more.
