- 4 c. canned tomatoes or fresh tomatoes with skins and seeds removed
- 1 medium onion, cut fine
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 c. toasted bread crumbs (5 to 6 slices)
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- parsley for garnish
Directions

1Boil tomatoes, onion, brown sugar and salt for 10 minutes. Toss bread crumbs in melted butter.

2Combine tomatoes and most of bread crumbs.

3Put remaining bread crumbs on top.

4Garnish with parsley and bake in covered casserole for 30 minutes.

5Bake at 325°.
