- 4 medium tomatoes
- A few basil sprigs
- Salt
- About 1/2 cup olive oil
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350F.

2Peel and core: 4 medium tomatoes.

3In the bottom of a baking dish just large enough to hold the tomatoes snugly, scatter: A few basil sprigs.

4Arrange the tomatoes core side down on top of the basil.

5Sprinkle with: Salt.

6Add: About 1/2 cup olive oil.

7Bake for about 50 minutes.

8The tomatoes are done when lightly browned on top and completely tender.

9Remove them carefully when serving.

10The oil left behind can be saved to add to a vinaigrette or other sauce.
