  • 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 5 c. peeled, chopped tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. dried whole basil (crushed)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
