- 5 1/2 c. (cubes or chunks) tomatoes
- 2 c. water
- 3 sticks cinnamon (if desired)
- 4 c. sugar
- 1 lemon, sliced thin
- 1/4 oz. ginger (if desired)
Directions

1Peel pears and halve or quarter them; place in large pot or pan.

2Sprinkle heavily with sugar.

3Cover in water and let set overnight.

4Cook on low heat about 6 hours or if smaller amount until pears get done and syrup is thick.

5Place in jars and seal. Ready to eat.
