- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 16 oz. can tomatoes
- 1 1/3 c. water
- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. dry white wine
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. basil leaves
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. parsley, chopped
- few grains pepper
Directions

1Melt butter in saucepan over low-medium heat.

2Add onion and garlic.

3Cook until tender.

4Blend in flour.

5Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until light browned.

6Add tomatoes, water, tomato sauce, wine, bouillon cube, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.

7Cover and cook on low about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

8Stir in parsley.

9Use for meat, chicken dishes, eggplant, etc.
