- 6 c. fresh or canned tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 2 cloves
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1/4 tsp. soda
Directions

1Cook first 4 ingredients for about 20 minutes.

2Press through a sieve or food mill.

3Melt butter and add remaining ingredients. Add tomatoes.

4Heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.

5Cooked rice or elbow macaroni may be added.
