- 2 c. flour
- 1 lb. dark brown sugar
- 3/4 c. oleo, softened
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Combine flour and sugar.

3Cut in oleo. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for topping.

4Add cinnamon, soda, nutmeg and ginger to remaining flour mixture.

5Stir in eggs and buttermilk.

6(Do not use electric mixer.)

7Pour batter into ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.

8Sprinkle the reserved topping over batter and bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until done.
