Ingredients

  • Twinkies or sponge cake in 1-inch cubes
  • 16 oz. or 20 oz. tin fruit cocktail
  • 1 pkg. Jell-O (red)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c. sweet sherry (optional)
  • 1 pkg. Jell-O pudding (vanilla or banana)
  • milk
  • cream
  • chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    Using an 8-inch diameter deep straight-sided glass dish, line bottom with broken Twinkies or sponge cake.

    Reserving liquid, spoon fruit over the Twinkies.

    Make Jell-O according to directions, making up to the two cups with the fruit cocktail juice and the sherry.

    Pour over the Twinkies and fruit.

    Allow to completely set.

    Make Jell-O pudding according to directions, using slightly less milk.

    Allow to completely set.

    Top with cream.

    Sprinkle with nuts (optional).
