Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 c. cut up cooked turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 2 tsp. chopped pimento
  • 1/2 tsp. dried sage leaves, crushed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese (mild)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

Directions

    Layer half of bread in ungreased baking dish (8 x 8 x 2-inch). Mix turkey, onion, green pepper, pimento, salt and sage.

    Spread over bread. Top with remaining bread.

    Beat eggs and mayo.

    Stir in milk and soup.

    Pour on bread.

    Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 325° uncovered until casserole is set and top is golden (1 to 1 1/2 hours).

    Take out a few minutes before done.

    Top with cheese. Return to oven to melt cheese.
