Turkey Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 4 c. crumbled toast or biscuits
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped hard-cooked eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. melted margarine
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • 3 c. crumbled cornbread
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 3 c. turkey broth

Directions

    Simmer celery and onion in water until tender, crumble toast and cornbread; mix in large bowl.

    Add celery, onion and liquid in which they were cooked.

    Add hot turkey broth to make a soft, moist mixture.

    If more liquid is needed, add milk or cream of mushroom soup, diluted.

    Add margarine and pour into a greased 4-quart baking dish.

    Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
