Turmeric Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp onion pounded or fine dice
  • 2 tbsp pounded shallot or fine mince
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder or (2 inches pounded fresh turmeric for stronger flavour )
  • 2 cup rice uncooked
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 lemongrass ( optional )
  • 2 scew pine leaf ( optional )
  • 2 cup water or stock (optional )

Directions

    in pan with butter fry onion and shallot with (pounded fresh turmeric if using ) till fragrant and light brown then add rice

    optional you can add water or stock and mix well then add (turmeric powder if not using fresh pounded turmeric) and salt then off heat

    transfer to rice cooker and cook as usual

    you may add lemongrass and screw pine leaf if you are using
