- 1 (18 1/2 ounce) box German chocolate cake mix
- 12 cup butter (melted)
- 23 cup evaporated milk
- 8 ounces caramels
- 1 12 cups pecans
- 1 12 cups chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350.

2Spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray.

3Mix 1 box German chocolate cake mix with melted butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

4Spread 2/3 of the batter in the prepared pan and bake 5 minutes.

5Meanwhile melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk , over low heat, in a heavy duty pot, being sure to stir so it doesn't burn.

6Remove the partially baked cake mixture and pour the caramel mixture evenly over it.

7Sprinkle pecans over the caramel mixture.

8Then sprinkle chocolate chips over the pecans.

9Place the rest of the batter over the chocolate chips by half teaspoonfuls evenly over the whole pan.

10Return to the oven for an additional 20 minutes.

11Cool thoroughly and cut into small bars.
