- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 1/3 c. margarine, melted
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Directions

1Melt caramels with milk in double boiler or over low heat.

2Mix by hand the cake mix, margarine and nuts until dough holds together.

3Press 1/2 dough into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.

4Bake 6 minutes at 350° (preheated oven).

5Remove from oven and spread semi-sweet chocolate pieces.

6Pour on caramel mixture. Crumble remaining dough over caramel mixture.

7Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes.

8Cool and refrigerate to set caramel.

9Cut into squares.
