  • 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz. Kraft caramels
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. broken pecans

Directions

    Melt caramels in saucepan over low heat with 1 1/2 sticks of butter and evaporated milk.

    Make cake according to box directions. Pour 1/2 of cake batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.

    Bake for 15 minutes at 350°.

    Pour caramel sauce over partially baked cake and add chocolate chips and pecan pieces. Pour remaining cake batter over top.

    Bake for 20 more minutes at 350°.

    Cool.

    Don't cut while hot.
