  • 1 (18 oz.) German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
  • 3/4 c. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 c. chocolate chips

Directions

    Mix cake as directed on package.

    Pour half of batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake for 15 minutes.

    Melt caramels, butter and milk together.

    Pour over partially baked cake.

    Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over caramel layer.

    Top with remaining cake batter and bake 20 to 25 minutes.
