Ingredients: 1 box German chocolate cake mix, prepared according to pkg. directions; 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels, unwrapped; 1/2 c. condensed milk; 3/4 c. margarine; 2 c. chopped pecans; 1 c. chocolate chips

1 box German chocolate cake mix, prepared according to pkg. directions
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels, unwrapped
1/2 c. condensed milk
3/4 c. margarine
2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chocolate chips

Prepare cake mix and pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Bake 10 minutes at 350°.

Meanwhile, melt margarine in saucepan over low heat and add caramels, stirring constantly.

Mix with condensed milk and pour over baked layer. Sprinkle with 1 cup nuts and chocolate chips.

Pour remaining batter over caramel layer and sprinkle with remaining nuts.

Bake for an additional 20 minutes.

Cool and cut into squares.
