  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 quart water
  • 2 1/2 lb softshell turtle
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Himalayan pink salt coarse grain
  • 6 large potatoes skin on chopped
  • 5 large carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated garlic powder
  • 4 quart water

    Take turtle, 2 quarts of water, and baking soda mix well, soak 30 minutes

    peel, and chop carrots.

    and potatoes, and onions, add them and spices and put into 4 quarts of water and boil

    After 30 minutes drain and rinse the turtle put into pot
  5. 5
    After 15 minutes mix flour and oil and add to stew
  6. 6
    Pull turtle out take meat off the bone, and add back in discard the bones

    Cook 5 minutes , then mix cornstarch and quarter cup water, then let the stew boil 2 minutes, stir constantly it will thicken, then let sit ten minutes.
