  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. milk
  • 5 Tbsp. flour

Directions

    In double boiler, cook 1 cup milk with 5 tablespoons flour. Stir constantly, until mixture becomes thick.

    Remove from heat. While hot, add to sugar mixture and mix until fluffy.

    If frosting is not thick enough, add more butter and Crisco.

    Remove cake from cake pan.

    Cut in half.

    Put 1 half back in pan and frost.

    Put second half on top of first half and frost top.
