Ingredients
- 1/2 head cabbage
- 2 onions
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
Directions

1Shred the cabbage as finely as possible (I chop it into VERY thin strips).

2It should measure about 10 cups.

3Place in a large bowl.

4Thinly shred the onions and add to the cabbage.

5Add 1/3 of the sugar and salt and mix well.

6Let stand while cooking the dressing.

7Combine the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan and boil hard for 5 minutes.

8Immediately pour over the cabbage and stir very well.

9Refrigerate at LEAST one day (two or three days is preferable).

10This salad keeps well for about a week.
