- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/8 c. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1/2 Tbsp. plus 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- whipped cream
Directions

1Bake pie shell.

2Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Stir in milk gradually.

3Cook over medium heat; stir constantly until thick and boiling.

4Boil and stir 1 minute.

5Stir 1/2 hot mixture into egg yolks; add to mixture in pan.

6Boil and stir 1 minute.

7Remove from heat.

8Stir in butter and vanilla.

9Pour into pie shell.

10Press plastic wrap onto filling.

11Refrigerate at least 2 hours, no longer than 48.

12Remove plastic; top with whip cream.
