  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour or 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk (I use half evaporated milk)
  • 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell

Directions

    Mix sugar, flour and salt well.

    Add to hot milk.

    Bring to boil and boil 2 minutes.

    Add beaten egg yolk, return to heat and boil 2 more minutes, remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour into pie crust.

    Top with meringue.
