- 6 slices day old bread
- 1 to 2 c. chopped, cooked vegetables
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 6 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes.

2Sprinkle half of the cubes into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.

3Sprinkle vegetables and cheese over cubes.

4Top with remaining cubes.

5Blend together eggs, soup, milk and seasonings.

6Pour egg mixture over bread-vegetable mixture.

7Cover.

8Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

9Bake in preheated 350° oven until golden brown, about 50 minutes.
