  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen French green beans or broccoli spears, thawed and drained
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 envelope instant onion soup mix
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. Swiss Gruyere cheese
  • 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs

Directions

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Arrange green beans or broccoli in bottom of 2-quart shallow baking dish; set aside.

    In small saucepan, melt butter.

    Blend in flour.

    Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.

    Add cheese, onion mixture and pepper; heat until cheese melts and soup mix is dissolved.

    Pour evenly over vegetables.

    Sprinkle bread crumbs over top.

    Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.
