- 1 lb. stewing beef
- 1 (20 oz.) pkg. soup vegetables or 1 c. each: frozen peas, corn, green beans, lima beans and carrots
- 1 c. shredded cabbage
- 3 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/2 stalk celery, diced
- 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
- 4 c. water
- salt and pepper
- thyme (optional)
Directions

1Brown stewing meat.

2Combine meat, vegetables and water in crock-pot or large pot.

3Season to taste with salt, pepper and thyme.

4Add soup bone.

5Cook on high for 5 hours or low for 10 hours for crock-pot.

6Cook over medium heat for 4 hours on stove. Remove soup bone before serving.
