Vegetable Soup

  • 1 lb. stewing beef
  • 1 (20 oz.) pkg. soup vegetables or 1 c. each: frozen peas, corn, green beans, lima beans and carrots
  • 1 c. shredded cabbage
  • 3 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 stalk celery, diced
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 4 c. water
  • salt and pepper
  • thyme (optional)

Directions

    Brown stewing meat.

    Combine meat, vegetables and water in crock-pot or large pot.

    Season to taste with salt, pepper and thyme.

    Add soup bone.

    Cook on high for 5 hours or low for 10 hours for crock-pot.

    Cook over medium heat for 4 hours on stove. Remove soup bone before serving.
