- 1 1/2 lb. beef shank
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- potatoes
- 1 can yellow beans
- 1 qt. tomatoes
- 2 small onions
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 black peppers
- 1 can green beans
- 1/2 c. alphabet macaroni
- shredded cabbage
Directions

1Boil beef shank in water.

2Remove scum.

3Add salt, bay leaves, peppers, tomatoes and onions.

4Simmer until tomatoes flake (1 1/2 to 2 hours).

5Add celery, potatoes and carrots.

6Boil 1/2 hour longer, then add beans, cabbage and macaroni.

7Boil for 1/2 hour more.
