  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 lb. stew meat, diced
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • any kind vegetables
  • 1 (No. 303) can stewed tomatoes (2 c.)
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato juice (3/4 c.)
  • 2 c. diced potatoes
  • salt to taste

Directions

    In a large pot combine onions, meat, vegetables, bay leaf and tomatoes.

    Cook two hours on medium heat.

    Add potatoes and salt. Cook until potatoes are soft.

    Makes about one gallon.
