- 1 onion
- 2 potatoes
- 2 Tbsp. rice
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 qt. water
- 1 carrot
- 1 tomato
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 pt. milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Peel the potatoes and onion and cut them in slices.

2Put the butter in a frying pan.

3Add the onion.

4Fry until it is a golden brown.

5Turn into the soup kettle.

6Add the potatoes, rice and carrot, scraped and cut into slices.

7Add the water.

8Cook slowly until all the vegetables are tender, about 1 hour.
