- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cornstarch
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 c. almonds, blanched and shredded
Directions

1Cream the butter.

2Add sugar gradually, yolk of eggs well beaten and water.

3Mix and sift flour, cornstarch and baking powder.

4Add to first mixture.

5Then add whites of eggs beaten until stiff.

6After putting in pan, cover with almonds and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

7Bake forty minutes in a moderate oven.
