Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. chili sauce or catsup
  • 5 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. honey or brown sugar
  • 1 (5 to 6 lb.) venison roast
  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 c. hot water

Directions

    Combine first 9 ingredients, blending until smooth.

    Spread mixture over venison and rub into meat thoroughly.

    Put meat in roasting pan, arranging bacon strips on top of meat and fastening with toothpicks.

    Dot meat with butter and pour water around, not on, meat.

    Roast uncovered at 450° for 30 minutes or until brown.
