- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 1/4 c. chili sauce or catsup
- 5 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. honey or brown sugar
- 1 (5 to 6 lb.) venison roast
- 4 strips bacon
- 1 stick butter
- 2 c. hot water
Directions

1Combine first 9 ingredients, blending until smooth.

2Spread mixture over venison and rub into meat thoroughly.

3Put meat in roasting pan, arranging bacon strips on top of meat and fastening with toothpicks.

4Dot meat with butter and pour water around, not on, meat.

5Roast uncovered at 450° for 30 minutes or until brown.
