  • 2 lb. cubes stew meat
  • flour, salt and pepper (mixed), to cover meat
  • 1 pkg. seasoning mix or stew seasoning
  • 3 1/2 c. water
  • 12 small red potatoes
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 4 chopped carrots
  • 5 small onions

Directions

    Roll the meat in flour, salt and pepper, then brown in shortening.

    Add seasonings or seasoning mix, 1 teaspoon salt and water.

    Cover and simmer for about 45 minutes.

    Add vegetables and cook another half hour.
