- 1 cup (250 ml) packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (50 ml)fancy molasses
- 1 tbs (5 ml) vanilla
- 2 cups (500ml) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp (10ml) each baking soda & ground ginger
- 1 tsp (5ml) cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp (2ml) ground allspice or cloves
- 1/2 tsp (2ml) salt
- 1/4 cup (50ml) ganulated sugar
- 4 tbsp (50ml)chopped crystalized ginger
