  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar jam
  • 1 c. or more chocolate chips
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sugar

    In a large bowl, combine 1 cup margarine at room temperature and 1/2 cup sugar.

    Work until creamy and mixed well.

    Beat in the salt and egg yolks.

    Add flour and knead with fingers until smooth.

    Pat dough evenly into a 12 x 17-inch pan.

    Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in pan in heated 350° oven until lightly browned.
