Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. apricots or raspberry jam
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. butter
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
- 4 egg whites, beaten stiffly
- 1 c. ground walnuts
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients.

2Cut butter in same as for pie crust. Mix egg yolks, milk and flavoring.

3Add to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly; press in bottom and up sides (about 1/2-inch) of a 9 x 12-inch pan.

4Spread jam on top, then gradually beat sugar into egg whites.

5Fold in nuts and pile lightly on top of jam.

6Bake in a 350° oven for 30 minutes.

7Cool; cut into diamond shapes.
