- 1 cup brown sugar, tightly packed
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup vinegar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 12 cup flour
- water
- 2 pie crusts (either your own recipe or storebought)
Directions

1Combine sugar, water and vinegar in a saucepan; bring to the boil.

2Add butter and stir until it melts.

3Mix flour with a little cold water to make a smooth paste.

4Add to boiling liquid slowly and stir until thickened.

5Line a pie pan with pastry, pour in filling and cover with strips of pastry, lattice fashion.

6Bake at 450F for ten minutes; reduce heat to 350F and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
