Ingredients

  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. chocolate syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift together the flour, sugar and soda.

    Bring to a boil the margarine, syrup, water and Crisco. Mix together the buttermilk, eggs and vanilla and add.

    Mix all ingredients until smooth.

    Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° until done.

    Cover cake with glaze while it is still warm.
