- 1 c. corn meal
- 3 Tbsp. powdered buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 egg
- water
Directions

1Sift all dry ingredients.

2Add oil, egg and just enough water to make a batter.

3Bake in iron cornstick pans or an iron skillet that has been well-greased and hot.

4While preheating the oven to 400°, heat the irons or skillet for they must be hot.

5Bake 7 to 8 minutes for cornsticks or 10 minutes in skillet (until browned). Serves 4 to 6.
