  • BATTER:
  • 4 (1-oz.) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
  • 2 (1-oz.) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Directions

    Melt together chocolate and butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; stir in sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat and whisk in eggs, vanilla and flour until blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a heated waffle iron; bake according to manufacturer's instructions. Top with Chocolate Frosting.

    Melt chocolate and butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; remove from heat and add milk and vanilla. Mix in powdered sugar to desired consistency.
