Ingredients

  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. butter/margarine
  • 1 c. finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • confectioners sugar

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except confectioners sugar.

    With hand, mix until thoroughly blended.

    Refrigerate dough 30 minutes.

    Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375°.

    Form dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.

    Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets; bake 15 to 20 minutes or until set but not brown.

    Let stand 1 minute.

    Remove to wire rack; cool partially.

    Roll in confectioners sugar while still warm; cool completely.

    Just before serving, re-roll in sugar.
