  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 1/2 c. walnut halves

Directions

    Cook without stirring over high heat the sugar and cream of tartar.

    Shake pan occasionally until it becomes a syrup-molasses color.

    Stir in walnuts and pour onto a well-buttered cookie sheet.

    Cool.
