- 2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. (1/4 lb.) butter
- 2 c. half and half
- 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1In large, heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and half of the cream.

2Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.

3Stir in remaining cream, nuts and vanilla.

4Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture reaches a temperature of 244° on a candy thermometer (small amount dropped into very cold water will form a firm ball).

5As mixture becomes thick, stir constantly.

6Immediately pour mixture evenly into a well buttered 8-inch square pan.

7Let stand until cool.

8Cut into 1-inch squares.

9Wrap individually in waxed paper or plastic wrap. Yields 64 candies (about 1 1/2 pounds).
