Ingredients
- 1 c. shelled walnuts
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. flaked coconut
- 8 oz. cream cheese (soft)
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can cherry pie filling
Directions

1Chop 1/2 cup of walnuts coarsely; set aside for garnishing. Chop remaining walnuts fine.

2Combine flour, brown sugar and butter; blend until fine crumbs form.

3Add coconut and finely chopped walnuts.

4Mix well.

5Set aside 1/2 cup.

6Pack remainder onto bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

7Bake at 350° about 15 minutes.

8Beat cream cheese with granulated sugar, egg and vanilla until very smooth.

9Spread over hot baked walnut layer.

10Bake 10 minutes.

11Remove and spread cherry pie filling over the top. Sprinkle with coarsely chopped nuts and reserved flour/brown sugar mixture.

12Bake 15 minutes.
