- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
Directions

1In large bowl, cream butter, confectioners sugar, vanilla and salt until fluffy.

2Stir in flour and walnuts until well blended. Cover and chill 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle.

3Break off small dough pieces and on lightly floured surface roll with hands into finger-thick strips.

4Cut in 2-inch lengths.

5Taper ends, then shape into crescents.

6Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

7Bake in preheated oven (300°) for 18 to 20 minutes or until firm to touch.

8While warm, roll in granulated sugar. Place on racks to cool.

9Store airtight in cool place.
