Walnut Pound Cake

- 2 sticks margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Cream the margarine and shortening with sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add vanilla and beat well.

3Add eggs one at a time and continue beating after each addition.

4Sift together the flour and baking powder.

5Add alternately to creamed mixture with milk. After batter has been well mixed, roll walnuts in flour and add to batter.

6Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes until done in a well-greased and floured tube pan.
