- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 3/4 c. uncooked rolled oats
- 3/4 c. seedless raisins
- 1/4 c. chopped walnuts
- whipped cream cheese, softened
Directions

1Day Before:

2Add vinegar to milk; let stand.

3Start heating oven to 350°.

4Grease well and lightly flour 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

5Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar.

6Then stir in egg, molasses and milk mixture all at once. Fold in oats, raisins and walnuts.

7Turn at once into prepared pan.

8Bake 60 to 70 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.

9Cool on wire rack; wrap in Saran or foil and store overnight.

10Serve, sliced, with cheese.
